How to represent properly an entire industry in a short text as this? Web
design has become an industry, an ever-growing and expanding industry with so
many innovations and insanely ingenious ideas that it will probably develop
extensively in the time you will need to read this text. First of all, let me
say that this text will focus on the actual design of webpages, rather than on
web development, i.e. the technical stuff.

Web design entails the creation of a new webpage or a website that can be
either static (never-changing) or dynamic, changing as a result of the
interaction with the user, or some trigger-based actions.
There are several aspects of web design that everyone who tries his luck with
it has to keep in mind.

First of all, it is of utmost importance that the purpose o the website is
clearly distinguished. It is crucial as it outlines the general design of the
website. It incorporates possibilities for further development of the site and
the general direction in which it will go. Next, it is important to find the
audience as it majorly influences the end product, based on the potential
visitors. The next on the list is content, which has to compiled, created and
in general well thought-out; so as to provide the visitors with a new and
original content that makes a website unique. A designer also has to keep in
mind the compatibility of a website with different platforms, browsers and file
types that will be supported.

The next step is the so called artistic aspect of the website in which the
designer creates a unique browsing experience, utilizing his imagination and
skills that will make a website what it is.
These are the broadest outlines of designing a website and they can all be
researched in depth elsewhere.
